This is something you may never see again....a conservative radio host's book beating the sales of Harry Potter!!!!....well, maybe only in an area of Tennessee - but, for this particular time and place Gallagher's #1. We told you Mike was well received in the Knoxville/Jonesborough, TN area and what a time it was. Thanks to everyone in the Tri-Cities for making Mike's visit such a huge success.

Jonesborough, TN Proves to be Grand Finale for Mike Gallagher and the "Surrounded By Idiots Tour"

Historic Jonesborough, TN rolled out the "welcome mat" for Mike and the Surrounded By Idiots Express for the "grand finale" of Mike's book signing tour. Crowds were constant throughout the morning as Mike broadcast his radio show from aboard the motorcoach.

Listeners of Mike's show - heard on WJCW AM 910 - lined up to get on board the Surrounded By Idiots Express to see Mike do his show and get their books signed. At times, the line was a "city" block long.

Just when everyone thought the last book was sold....a new group of people appeared and the Books-A-Million salesperson opened shop on the sidewalk to continue selling books.

Mike Goes "Home" to Greenville

All of Mike's favorite "idiots" showed up for his "coming home" book signing in Greenville, SC. A huge crowd converged on Restaurant O on South Main Street and greeted Mike as he signed books for all his friends in the Upstate.

Mike arrived in Greenville to face a packed house at Restaurant O. Everyone got their book signed and picked up T-Shirts and Dog tags for Gallagher's Army.

Mike's Book Tour a Great Success in Florence, SC

Mike signs books for the large crowd of listeners who turn out for his book signing visit to Palmetto Nissan in Florence, SC. The response was so good the bookseller "sold out" of books during this visit - a first on the tour!

Mike is interviewed for the local TV news in Florence, SC

Mike makes a surprise visit with Ty and TJ on 970 WJMX AM in Florence during his book signing visit. Ty presented Mike with some "gag gifts" including a pair of flip-flops. Not to be outdone, Mike had a baby's "pacifer" to present to Ty. All was done in a playful and friendly spirit.

Williamsport and WWPA turn out for Mike's Book Signing

On his third visit to Williamsport, PA in the past year Mike was once again welcomed by listeners anxious to buy his book and get them signed. Although the heat was almost unbearable, a good crowd came out to to Knittle and Frey during WWPA's remote broadcast from 4-6PM on Monday afternoon. Here Mike is greeted by one of Williamsport's Mounted Police.

Last December Bob Kirkpatrick and his team at BJ's Pit Barbecue and Pub - in Selinsgrove, PA. - surprised Mike with a $5,000.00 Christmas gift to Gallagher's Army as a result of their annual gift card promotion. It was only natural to stop by and meet this great group of people on the National Book Tour. The people of Selinsgrove, PA didn't dissapoint us. Thanks for the great hospitality!

Protestors meet Mike Gallagher in Wilmington, DE

The fans and protestors alike all turned out to greet Mike on his first visit to WILM AM 1450 in Wilmington, DE. The "Surrounded By Idiots Express" pulled into town on a beautiful Friday morning and was truly "Surrounded By Idiots." Each time Mike came off the motorcoach to greet his listeners he would be "swarmed" by anxious fans - and protestors - wanting to get his signature or just tell him what they thought of his show. The 9th Street book store owners said, " this has been one of our more exciting book signing!" A special thanks to the Wilmington Police Officers who assisted with crowd control and "keeping the peace." Rudy's owner says he's a liberal, but he sure took to his new buddy Mike and all that licking didn't seem to bother Rudy at all...in fact, maybe Rudy isn't a liberal after all!!!!

A visit to the State College, PA area doesn't seem complete without a visit from Mike's favorite protestors. In this picture, Mike walks across the street to say hello....they seemed quite surprised that Mike acknowledged their presence.

The Student Book Store- located across the street from Penn State University - was the site for Mike's stop today. As Mike broadcast his show from aboard the "Surrounded By Idiots Express" parked outside SBS, listeners purchased his book and were treated to a visit aboard the mobile broadcast studio during the show.

The "Surrounded By Idiots Express" made stop number seven(7) in Newark, OH and was welcomed by radio station WHTH and Miller's Essenplatz Restaurant.

Mike's listeners patiently waited in line for him to sign their copy of "Surrounded By Idiots" during breaks during the show.

The day began with a VIP breakfast hosted by John Rossignol, Tom Swank and the team at Talk 790 WHTH. Mike then broadcast his radio show live from inside a ballroom at Miller's Essenplatz where his listeners were invited to drop by for danish and coffee, buy a book and see how Mike does the show each day. As usual, WSBT AM and the South Bend, IN listeners welcomed Mike to their town with much enthusiasm. The crowd was consistant throughout the day as they visited with Mike during the show aboard the "Surrounded By Idiots Express" and after the show inside Jim Basney BMW.

One of Mike's younger fans - Owen - couldn't wait to dive in and start reading "Surrounded By Idiots." Owen said it sure beat the Cartoon Network!!!!

The Mike Gallagher Show found out why Hannibal, MO is called America's Hometown during our "Surrounded By Idiots Express" stop. From the time Mike and all of us arrived until we packed up and left town the welcome mat was unrolled and in place....Mike was even allowed to pilot the Mark Twain river boat down the Mississippi!!!! ...now that's a scary thought! Thanks to Ed Foxall and all his team at KHMO for their hospitality during our visit.

After picking Mike up at the St Louis airport we traveled up to Hannibal, MO just in time to board the Mark Twain Riverboat and see a fabulous fireworks display. It not hard to understand why Hannibal is called "America's Hometown" with the patriotism shown here last night. Although Mike was in New York guest hosting this morning's edition of Fox and Friends, Jason, Josh and I stayed over in Houston to attend a special celebration to recognize and honor our Military sponsored by KKHT FM 100.7 FM and 1070 AM KNTH.

The "Surrounded By Idiots Express" left Houston late afternoon to make our way up to the next stop on the tour. It's no secret Texas is a big state....but, boy did it take a while to get up to Arkansas where we will stay over for a day and then travel on up to Hannibal, MO on Tuesday.

KNTH 1070AM and Four Seasons Sunrooms welcome the "Surrounded By Idiots Express" to Houston for the second stop on Mike's book signing tour. The photo above shows Mike broadcasting his show from aboard his mobile studio. Not only did listeners get to purchase a signed copy of Mike's book, but they were able to enter a drawing to win a $25,000.00 sunroom addition to their home. Mike will be drawing the winner in early August. So if you live in the Houston area, it's not too late to register for this great drawing. All the good people of KJCE and their many sponsors were generous hosts as we kicked off the first book signing tour event in Austin, TX. The "Surrounded by Idiots Express" pulled out of Dallas, TX fully loaded for a month long tour of fun and exciting events with the many listeners of The Mike Gallagher Show and the supporters of Gallagher's Army. Over the next several weeks Mike and the crew will travel the country meeting the people who make the show and Gallagher's Army a great success. As we motored down the interstate toward Austin, TX we had many people blowing their horns and waving in excitement to see the "Express" coming through their town.
